WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Peanut and Tree Nut Processors Association (PTNPA) annually celebrates National Nut Day on Oct. 22.
PTNPA and its members seek to highlight the nutritional benefits of nuts, the industry's commitment to community giving and its economic impact across the United States by releasing results from the first-ever nut industry “Nut Numbers” economic impact report by hosting a Capitol Hill event on this day dedicated to a robust industry, said the association.
“National Nut Day is a terrific opportunity to bring together industry leaders, influencers, partners and policymakers to focus on and celebrate the nut industry,” said Jeannie Shaughnessy, CEO, PTNPA. “Our members are proud to offer healthy and nutritious nut products, tirelessly drive food safety initiatives and lead sustainability and philanthropic efforts. Notably, this year, PTNPA is thrilled to release the first-ever 'Nut Numbers' Economic Impact Study for the nut industry. We are a serious and significant industry.”
In collaboration with PTNPA’s industry affiliate members listed below, PTNPA will host a Capitol Hill Networking Reception at the Rayburn Foyer, Rayburn House Office Building, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 5-7 p.m.
This reception will showcase a range of nut commodities, featuring information and sample products with a fun and engaging flair, said PTNPA. (Note: Should this location be closed on Oct. 22, PTNPA will send notification of a new location. The event will take place regardless of the federal government's operating status.)
