ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Willow Tree announced it has achieved certification from the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Program.
SQF certification is recognized by retailers and foodservice providers around the world who require rigorous, credible food safety management systems by suppliers. Willow Tree, a provider of frozen poultry pies and chicken salad, achieved SQF Level 2 certification, which includes food safety fundamentals and a Hazard Analysis Crticial Control Points (HACCP) approach.
"Willow Tree has always been committed to providing our customers with safe, quality products," said Walter Cekala, president, Willow Tree. "To achieve this, we follow a strict, USDA approved HACCP plan which details the regulatory requirements that must be met to assure food safety and require all of our ingredient suppliers to do the same."
The certification took Willow Tree more than a year to complete and required a company-wide effort that assessed every process and supply chain, the company said.
