WASHINGTON – The results of a global, comprehensive survey of more than 700 industry executives that identifies and predicts issues and trends likely to influence the future of food safety will be unveiled during a roundtable discussion at the 2010 Global Food Safety Conference, being held from February 3rd -5th in Washington, D.C . Sponsored by Diversey, Inc., the survey offers a unique perspective from industry experts who are working everyday to ensure the safety of the world’s food supply.

The 2010 Global Food Safety Conference, now in its 9th year, is managed by The Consumer Goods Forum and brings together over 700 food safety leaders from over 40 countries to discuss global food safety risks and challenges. The webinar for journalists is being produced in cooperation with The Consumer Goods Forum.
WHAT:
More than 700 food growers, processors, distributors and retailers responded to 37 questions on a variety of topics regarding the future of global food safety.
Sample questions addressed during the roundtable include:
* What are the top three food safety issues that will dominate the activities of the food system throughout the world in 2020?
* Will food safety become an integral part of a larger sustainability platform by 2020?
* What are the top technologies affecting food safety in 2020?
* Will bioterrorism (intentional incidents) have a bigger impact on the food industry than unintentional food safety incidents?
* Will availability and access to safe food be a major political and economic threat to international stability in 2020?
* Should the food industry more proactively address the challenges of obesity, nutrition and food security?
