WASHINGTON — Washington Beef, a Toppenish, Wash., firm, is recalling more than 82,000 pounds of beef products that were produced under insanitary conditions, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Friday.
The beef products may have been produced using non-potable water following testing by the Washington State Department of Health, the USDA said in a release.
These products were produced on June 11, bear the establishment number "Est. 235" inside the USDA mark of inspection and were distributed to wholesalers, processors and retail institutions in
The beef products subject to recall were shipped in bulk for further processing and may have been sold under different retail brand names in the affected states.
