San Francisco, Calif.-based True Story won the prestigious NEXTY Award for Best New Meat, Dairy or Animal-Based Product from the 2018 Expo East trade show in Baltimore, Md., for its new Berkshire Non-GMO fresh pork.
“We are simply thrilled at winning the Nexty,” said True Story Co-founder Phil Gatto. “Every day, we go to work excited to offer delicious, healthy foods for our fans and customers. Winning a Nexty Award for our incredible Berkshire pork is wonderful, and we are thrilled with this recognition."
True Story Berkshire Non-GMO fresh pork is from hogs that are from heirloom lines of the Berkshire breed, which is prized for its extraordinary marbling and deep cherry color. The meat has a uniquely deep flavor, with a sweeter taste than mainstream pork. The hogs are raised with Project Non-GMO verified feed on family farms with enhanced outdoor access (certified by the Global Animal Partnership).
This award is even more special to Gatto as it is a part of furthering the team's mission. "The team is dedicated to bringing back small family farms by working hand-in-hand to create products that give opportunities for farmers to profit. This is part of changing the paradigm of conventional factory farms." Visit True Story at www.truestory.com.
