BROOMFIELD, Colo. - TempTrip is introducing a new "one touch" temperature tag for its web-based cold chain time/temperature monitoring system.
The new ultra high frequency (UHF) radio identification tag was introduced at Fresh Summit in October in Anaheim.
TempTrip's UHF tag can be affixed to packages, cases or pallents and is capable of logging thousands of time/temperature points, the company reports. It has a five-year battery life, and has a temperature range of -30 to +55 C, TempTrip said.
"This time/temperature tag is the first to combine flexible performance with reusability and an affordable price point," said Phaedra Culjak, COO, TempTrip. "We believe that TempTrip's new approach makes the technology desirable and affordable for just about any company which relies on cold chain distribution."
The tags can be checked for preset conditions at any point during shipment or storage, and can be read with hand-held or stationary readers, TempTrip said. The tags can also be returned to TempTrip with results which are loaded onto a dedicated website within 24 of receipt.
