PHOENIX – SenesTech announced is now offering ContraPest to a new vertical, municipalities.
ContraPest is a proactive, long-term solution that targets rats by population, not by individuals. SenesTech said it designed to be humane and doesn’t travel up the food chain. The liquid bait within an integrated pest management program offers an effective and comprehensive approach to successful rat pest control.
Wastewater treatment facilities at municipalities are specifically ideal for ContraPest since they present a unique challenge in controlling rat infestations because of groundwater concerns, SenesTech reports.
In addition to wastewater treatment facilities, other municipalities are using ContraPest at parks, recreation facilities, correctional facilities, administrative offices and municipal housing.
SenesTech reports that ContraPest is being used at wastewater treatment facilities in both Washington and California. At the Washington facility, a local pest control company, is using both bait stations and Elevate stations at a widespread facility to manage and ensure rat activity at the site is kept to a minimum, including in subterranean treatment tunnels and pump stations. At the California facility, above-ground Elevate stations are being used exclusively due to the facility’s design and the pattern of rat infestation.
“Municipalities and government entities comprise a broad and diverse customer base. We are continuously working with these customers, and the pest management professionals who service them, to understand their specific needs, and then to guide them as to how best to add ContraPest to their integrated pest management system. Wastewater treatment deployment has very specific challenges, and we are able to develop and share deployment protocols that other, similar customers use,” said Joel Fruendt, SenesTech’s president and chief executive officer.
