Santa Monica Seafood has acquired the customer base, corporate name, inventory and other assets of Long Beach Seafood Co., a Los Angeles-based seafood distributor that has been in business for 90 years. Tony and Star de Lucia, president and vice president of sales of Long Beach Seafood, respectively, have joined Santa Monica Seafood and will continue to focus their efforts on sales to their customers.
Santa Monica Seafood is a private, family-owned and -operated company that has been in the business of supplying quality seafood products for the past 72 years. The Company will have approximately 300 employees. Anthony Cigliano, president of Santa Monica Seafood, said, "Long Beach Seafood was one of our most well-respected competitors in Southern California. Both companies are quality-minded organizations with over 160 years of combined history in the seafood distribution business."
Santa Monica Seafood, a family-owned and -operated company for 72 years, is a specialty wholesale distributor of fresh and frozen seafood with corporate offices and a processing facility in Rancho Dominguez, Calif. Santa Monica Seafood also operates a national distribution program, SMS Chef Express, and has two retail stores - in Santa Monica and Costa Mesa, Calif.
