Petfood Forum has confirmed Dr. Katy Nelson as the keynote speaker for the 2019 conference, scheduled for April 29-May 1, in Kansas City, Mo. Registration is now open with super early bird savings available for the conference and exhibition.
“Nelson will share insights on the human-pet bond and the role of nutrition and health in developing and nurturing it, and what this means for the pet food market.” said Debbie Phillips-Donaldson, editor-in-chief of Petfood Industry. Nelson, D.V.M, host and executive producer of “The Pet Show with Dr. Katy” and associate veterinarian at the Belle Haven Animal Medical Center in Alexandria, Va., will kick off the conference on April 30.
The conference also will feature four general sessions covering omnichannel pet food retailing, the evolution of pet food premiumization, the latest consumer data, and pet food litigation trends; and include four concurrent session tracks and multiple panel discussions providing insights on e-commerce and pet food retailing, science vs. marketing in pet food development, the future of pet food and its consumers, and an update on canine dilated cardiomyopathy.
The Petfood Innovation Workshop will take place on April 29, 2019 the day prior to the Petfood Forum, featuring the theme, “Clean Label Technology.” In this workshop, attendees will participate in numerous stations led by pet food industry suppliers including AFB International, Darling Ingredients, DSM, Extru-Tech, Kerry Ingredients, Maxxam Analytics and TC Transcontinental.
