Organic Trade Association Appoints Legislative & Advocacy Manager

The Organic Trade Association (OTA) has hired Will Telligman to fill the new position of Legislative and Advocacy Manager in its new Washington, D.C. office.

WASHINGTON—The Organic Trade Association (OTA) has hired Will Telligman to fill the new position of Legislative and Advocacy Manager in the organization's new Washington, D.C. office.

Telligman most recently served as Legislative Affairs Coordinator for the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) in D.C. after a year stint as Legislative Affairs Assistant with IDFA. Previously, he served as a congressional intern in D.C. for Representative John Spratt.

Telligman grew up on a farm, and both sides of his family have continuously farmed since the mid-1800s. He currently is completing a Master's in Agricultural Policy at Johns Hopkins University.

In his role at OTA, Telligman will assist Laura Batcha, OTA's Chief of Policy and External Relations, and OTA's Executive Director Christine Bushway in building and coordinating relationships with key political staff, government officials in the Administration and Congress, and allied organic groups regarding organic agriculture, industry, and trade. Telligman will also educate congressional staff on the potential impact of proposals on organic agriculture and trade, monitor legislative developments, and provide timely alerts, summaries and analysis to OTA staff and OTA membership.
