President Obama Comments on His Administration's Food Safety Efforts

Obama recently highlighted efforts to reduce the prevalence of <em>E. coli</em>, implement new standards to reduce exposure to <em>Campylobacter</em?, issuance of a rule to control Salmonella contamination, a pilot study on a tracing system, and an enhanced and updated www.foodsafety.gov website.

 In his July 07, 2010 statement, President Obama highlighted Administration accomplishments to reduce the prevalence of E. coli, implement new standards to reduce exposure to Campylobacter, issuance of a rule to control Salmonella contamination, a pilot study on a tracing system, and an enhanced and updated www.foodsafety.gov web site; the President also thanked the House for its work and supported efforts in the Senate to pass S. 510, the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act.
