Buffalo, New York-based Frnak Wardynski & Sons has recalled approximately 17,000 pounds of sausage products after the Food Safety and Inspection Service found the product contained undeclared sulfites.
The following sausage products, produced from August 2006 to present, were recalled:
- 9-lb. cases containing 12-oz. packages of "CHATEAU ROYAL Gourmet Sausage, Rabbit, Veal and Pork Sausage with White Wine." Each box contains the establishment number "P-4365" inside the USDA mark of inspection and a case code of "US232."
- 12-lb. cases containing 16-oz. packages of "BROADLEAF SMOKED VENISON SAUSAGE (Beef and Pork Added) with PORT WINE & CASSIS." Each box contains the establishment number "Est. 4365" inside the USDA mark of inspection and a case code of "BLS05."
- 9-lb. cases containing 12-oz. packages of "BROADLEAF ELK SAUSAGE (Beef and Pork Added) with MADIERA WINE." Each box contains the establishment number "Est. 4365" inside the USDA mark of inspection and a case code of "BLU03."
- 6-lb. cases containing 12-oz. packages of "ROBERT ALLEN'S GOURMET SAUSAGE, CRANBERRY & SHIRAZ WINE Smoked Sausage." Each box contains the establishment number "Est. 4365" inside the USDA mark of inspection and a case code of "RCA04."
- 9-lb. cases containing 12-oz.packages of "CHATEAU ROYAL SMOKED VENISON SAUSAGE (Beef and Pork Added) with PORT WINE & CASSIS." Each box contains the establishment number "Est. 4365" inside the USDA mark of inspection and a case code of "SS279."
