New Partnership to Promote Food Safety in South Korea

SEOUL, South Korea - Samsung Everland, South Korea's largest contract caterer, has made a commitment to promoting internationally-recognized levels of food safety with new training, according to NSF International.

NSF has trained 20 of the company's senior management staff with the U.K.'s Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Level 3 qualification in supervising food safety in catering. NSF and CIEH will develop a comprehensive food safety training program offered throughout Asia, building on its already strong food safety presence in the region, NSF said. 

The CIEH plans to extend its public health message worldwide and has accredited courses and trainers operating in the Middle East, Hong Kong and Asia, they said.

"NSF in Asia PAcific already works with many of the top 100 global restaurant, catering and retail businesses," said Dan Fone, director of business development for global food safety with NSF. "Accredited training is a natural extension of our food safety services and dovetails perfectly with the extension of the CIEH's own highly regarded qualifications into Asian countries."
