Seoul Shik Poom, Hillside, N.J., is recalling several types of yellow croaker because they have the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium that can cause life-threatening illness or death.
Frozen Salted/Dried Yellow Croaker was distributed in New York, New Jersey and the Maryland area. It reached consumers through retail stores. This product comes in a clear plastic bag and is individually tied with rope.
The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
