MARSHFIELD, Wis. — In order to better serve its West Coast customer base, Nelson-Jameson has announced plans to build a new warehouse and office facility to house its Turlock, Calif. operations.
Land has been purchased on Humphrey Court in Turlock, Calif., two blocks from the company’s current stocking facility in the Westside Industrial Park. L Street Architects has finalized building plans that are modern and energy efficient, utilizing glass for natural lighting and spacious, open design concepts. Simile Construction Service has been selected as the contractor, and expects to complete the project in fall of 2008.
The new facility will contain approximately 27,000 square feet of warehouse space, along with 3,500 square feet of office space. Warehouse space will include seven loading docks, a drive-in cooler to accommodate fork lifts, a storage room for flammable materials and a chemical storage containment area. Narrow aisle stacking will ensure the maximum use of space from floor to ceiling. Plans also are in the works to include a training facility on site.
