Multinational Products Withdrawn from Greek Supermarkets after Terrorist Threat

Keep Talking Greece – Unilever, Coca Cola, Nestle and Delta preventively withdrew some of their products from Greece supermarket shelves and all points of sales after threats of contamination were posted on Greek internet on December 13.

According to Greek media, the threat text was uploaded on the website of the anti-authoritarian scene on Monday afternoon and set Greek authorities including the counter-terror department on alert.

The text stated that an unknown group had contaminated various food products of the four companies with chlorine and hydrochloric acid and had put them back on the shelves of major supermarkets in Athens.

Police and security mobilized the counter-terror department, the Health Ministry and the Food Control Agency as they do not consider the anonymous message as a bluff but as a real action staged by anti-authoritarian groups.
