ST. CLOUD, Minn. — MicroBioLogics has achieved accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is recognized across the globe as a leader in the development of standards. ISO 17025 assesses the technical competency of laboratories.
“This is a major milestone for MicroBioLogics. It’s a testament to the rigorous quality management system we have created and adhere to. Receiving this accreditation will assist us in achieving future growth and development at MicroBioLogics,” said CEO Robert C. Coborn.
To meet the stringent standards encompassed in ISO 17025, MicroBioLogics underwent extensive audits and a thorough management review. The company exhibited the use of suitable test methods and procedures, along with the ability to produce accurate and consistent test results. It also demonstrated that calibration equipment and standards are continuously maintained appropriately and are traceable to the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). For MicroBioLogics customers this means they can eliminate the need for time consuming, expensive supplier audits and gain confidence in the knowledge and ability of MicroBioLogics personnel.
In addition to ISO 17025:2005, MicroBioLogics has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification, CE Mark conformity, and is an FDA registered company. MicroBioLogics was the first company to adopt the ATCC Licensed Derivative Program and is currently the only member of the program that has achieved ISO 17025:2005 accreditation. Also, the company recently launched the MicroBioLogics License and Supply Program to showcase alternative culture collection options in their product line.
