Mettler-Toledo
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection Group has released a new eGuide focused on product inspection and quality control for meat, poultry and seafood manufacturers. The guide outlines how smart inspection solutions can help strengthen food safety programs, reduce operational risk and support consistent product quality across processing and packaging operations, Mettler-Toledo said.
“Quality control in the protein industry isn’t about a single checkpoint anymore,” said Tom Koshy, national sales director at Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection. “Processors need visibility across the line, from raw product through final packaging. This eGuide looks at how inspection fits into that bigger picture and how the right technologies, placed in the right locations, can enable clearer, more consistent decision-making.”
The eGuide explores challenges specific to meat, poultry and seafood production and outlines quality control functions including foreign body detection, label verification and more. Designed for processors at all stages of operation, the guide examines how to find the best inspection solution for different applications and insertion points, with guidance on applying metal detection, x-ray inspection, checkweighing and vision inspection technologies, according to Mettler-Toledo. Also highlighted is the role of inspection data in monitoring performance, documenting due diligence and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
