The story of spices is a tale of camel caravans, perilous voyages through unknown seas, the discovery of America, bloody wars, and the rise and fall of far-flung empires … and now McCormick & Co. has added another chapter to its part of that story with the acquisition of Austin, Texas-based One World Foods, seller of Stubb’s premium barbecue sauces.
McCormick’s purchase of the Texas barbeque sauces marinades, rubs and skillet sauces adds to its already extensive line of seasonings and blends and beefs up McCormick’s range of grilling products marketed under the Grill Mates, Lawry’s and McCormick brands. The company said it will maintain Stubb’s headquarters in Texas while building the business through increased household penetration and expanded retail distribution.
