Chris McCloud, president and CEO of Chicago-based McCloud Services, was honored with the 2015 Crown Leadership Award at the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA) annual PestWorld conference held in Nashville, Tenn., in October. The award program, now in its 27th year, was presented by Pest Control Technology (PCT) magazine and Syngenta Professional Pest Management.
McCloud was honored for his family legacy of commitment to the pest management industry and ongoing contributions to the growth and development of future generations and leaders. McCloud worked his way up in the family business, and is now the fourth generation of family leadership for the over 110-year old pest management company. Founded in 1904, McCloud Services has grown to serve an 11-state region and has nearly 200 employees.
An article published in PCT magazine recognized McCloud for his leadership abilities and ongoing commitment to innovative pest solutions, especially in the food safety industry. As a director of Copesan, an alliance of premier pest management companies, he was recognized as a creative thinker, always challenging the ways pest management companies can grow and compete in today’s industry environment. He is known to foster a team approach to doing business and challenges his employees to think of ways the client can always be best served.
“I am honored to receive this prestigious award. Carrying on the family legacy has been a very rewarding experience. This recognition is a testament to our many employees who provide the high-quality customer service our clients expect on a daily basis. I look forward to contributing to the growth of the pest management industry and providing opportunities for future generations,” said McCloud.
