With U.S. Food and Drug Administration FDA's January release of two draft rules under the Food Safety Modernization Act, it's clear to food facilities: You must have a written Food Safety Plan for Preventative Controls compliance.
The latest Leavitt Partners Blog discusses such, outlining steps what you'll need to do to get a plan on paper. "FDA expects each different type of product in a facility to have a food safety plan," Inouye writes. "The risks are facility specific, and product specific. It will not be acceptable to develop a corporate plan and just roll that out to multiple facilities."
