ROCKFORD, Ill. - The keynote speaker for Petfood Forum 2013, April 15-17, will be Kerri Morgan, a Paralympic bronze medalist, who will appear with her access dog Twix.
An instructor in the Department of Neurology and Program in Occupational Therapy at Washington University, St. Louis, Mo., Morgan will talk about assistance dogs and their value to their owners. She will also discuss organizations that provide these dogs, such as CHAMP (Canine Helpers Allow More Possibilities).
In addition to Morgan, Petfood Forum 2013 will feature more than 25 other expert speakers, including Dr. David Acheson, co-author of the new Food Safety Modernization Act; Dr. George Burdock, who will address the exciting new field of nanotechnology and its use in petfood; Dr. Maria Cattai de Godoy, describing her research at the University of Illinois on nutrition and cognitive dysfunction in dogs; and Madalena Spinazzola, a strategic planning and corporate manager at Premier Pet in Brazil, who will explain how the country is poised to become the world's second largest petfood market.
For its 21st year, Petfood Forum returns to the beautiful Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel with an even larger exhibit hall and more space for conference sessions, receptions and other networking opportunities.
