J.M. Smucker Co. will locate its new Southeast distribution hub near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Orrville, Ohio-based Smucker will lease DCT Industrial Inc.'s entire Southcreek IV building, a 557,000-square-foot distribution center.
J.M. Smucker has about 3,250 full-time employees worldwide. Its closest manufacturing facility is in Memphis, Tenn., where the company makes jelly, jam and syrup.
J.M. Smucker would not confirm how many workers the Southeast distribution hub will employ.
J.M. Smucker is a big catch for DCT. Coupled with the recent 200,000-square-foot lease with Toledo, Ohio-based Owens Corning Industrial Systems, DCT's 1.8 million-square foot Southcreek Commerce Center is now 100 percent leased. Paul Roeser and Bob Robers with Jones Lang LaSalle represented Owens Corning.
