CHICAGO - The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) has announced its 2013 Fellows. The unique distinction is given to individuals with outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience for their contributions to food science and technology, IFT said.
The IFT Fellow designation is an honor bestowed upon IFT members by their peers, recognizing "exemplary advancement, service to the food science and technology professions, inspiration of others to excel in the food science and technology field, primary responsibility for the success of a new food product, and/or improvement of the human condition via food science technology," IFT said.
The 2013 Fellows are as follows:
- Ashim Datta, Ph.D., professor, Cornell University
- Michael duBois, director, Rutgers Food Innovation Center
- Elisabeth Huff-Lonergan, Ph.D., professor, Iowa State University
- Lekh Raj Juneja, Ph.D., executive vice president, Taiyo Kagaku and president, Taiyo International
- Larry Keener, CFS, president and chief executive, International Product Safety Consultants
- Lucina Lampila, Ph.D., CFS, associate professor, Louisiana State University Agricultural Center
- Chong Lee, Ph.D., professor emeritus and researcher, University of Rhode Island
- Gary List, former lead scientist, National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research
- Rosana Moreira, Ph.D., professor of food engineering and assistant department head, Texas A&M University
- Witoon Prinyawiwatkul, Ph.D., CFS, professor, Louisiana State University
- PV Suryaprakasa Rao, CFS, technical director and advisor, Priya Foods
