The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) has announced the launch of its global stakeholder consultation for the IFS Food Standard.
GFSI is inviting stakeholders to comment on the process that IFS, the Benchmark Committee Leader and the Benchmark Committee Members have been involved in over the past months, the organization said.
The IFS benchmarking process consisted of the following:
- Three desktop reviews and corresponding responses from IFS providing the required information.
- A conference call with IFS by Benchmark Committee Leader Vince Craig to deal with outstanding issues and an IFS response to these issues.
- A conference call with Benchmark Committee Members, leading to identification of minor issues
- Feedback to IFS with a prompt response from IFS to clarify the identified issues.
- A final review of the IFS response by the Benchmark Committee Members.
