GFSI has announced the launch of its global stakeholder consultation for the IFS Extension of Scope for Storage & Distribution. As part of its commitment to providing transparency during the GFSI benchmarking process, GFSI invites stakeholders to comment on the process that IFS and the benchmark committee leader and members have been involved in over the past months.

On September 21, 2012 and January 4, 2013, the IFS Benchmarking Application was approved for C. Animal Conversion; D. Pre-Processing Handling of Plant Products; EI. Processing of Animal Perishable Products; EII. Processing of Plant Perishable Products; EIII. Processing of Animal and Plant Perishable Products (Mixed Products); EIV. IFS then submitted an application for an extension of scope for (J) provision of Storage and Distribution Services, now is open for a consultation period of four weeks starting on June 17, 2014.
Similarly to the previous benchmarking process, this scope extension benchmarking process consisted of two desktop reviews and corresponding responses from IFS providing the required information, feedback to IFS with a prompt phone call response to clarify the issues, and a final review of the IFS response by the benchmark committee members.
