FoodLogiQ, a provider of On Demand traceability and food safety software, and rtech laboratories, a comprehensive food testing laboratory and research facility, have partnered to integrate rtech’s 20 years of excellence in lab testing services into FoodLogiQ’s traceability and food safety software.
“We chose FoodLogiQ as our partner because they have a complete food safety technology solution and a strong base of customers and expertise from livestock to produce and growers to manufacturers. We see this as a way to extend our services to a broader base of customers and provide a needed solution in a more automated format with our Partner FoodLogiQ,” said Alecia Dotterweich, general manager of rtech laboratories.
FoodLogiQ is known for its innovative On Demand software that automates traceability, audits and lab testing while eliminating manually intensive paper-based programs. In launching this new initiative with rtech, FoodLogiQ can now help processors, manufacturers, distributors and retailers set up a fully integrated quality management system (QMS) that meets global food safety standards, enabling companies to formalize their food-safety efforts and ensure more sanitary production environments. The solution provides companies a single place to order lab testing services, compare results across facilities and link those results directly to their traceability, quality management and food safety programs in a single On Demand software solution.
“The FoodLogiQ software helps manufacturers document their food safety testing results and milestones – even sending out automated notifications about what tests need to be checked that week,” said Dotterweich. “Our laboratory will perform microbiological testing to help verify that the facilities are in compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). Ultimately, FoodLogiQ’s software makes it possible for manufacturers to track trends in their food safety efforts, identify trouble spots, and protect themselves and their consumers by eliminating mistakes.”
With recent high profile Listeria, Salmonella and E.coli outbreaks, consumers and regulators are calling for increased traceability and food safety controls in the food supply. According to Andy Kennedy, President of FoodLogiQ, “One of the key challenges in the industry has been providing affordable solutions that link all the elements required for a complete food safety solution. While many companies have embarked on quality management programs, they are paper based and manual intensive. With FoodLogiQ’s traceability and integrated lab testing services from rtech, users can manage their program in a single solution.” This rtech-FoodLogiQ partnership should help minimize hazards and prevent outbreaks. “Together,” adds Dotterweich, “we’ve created a program that makes it easy for manufacturers to manage to HACCP standards in one streamlined solution.”
