The Target Group, producer of Food Safety World Conference & Expo, will merge their event into the 2007 Food Safety & Security Summit this March 6-8 at the Washington D.C., Convention Center.
According to a statement from Stacy Atchison, president of The Target Group, this agreement "will signal to the industry that only one independent food safety industry show will be held in Washington, D.C., next spring. The Target Group will have a booth at the 2007 Summit, where it will distribute Food Safety and Organic Processing magazines. In addition, there are provisions in the merger agreement for Food Safety World exhibitors, these companies will be contacted in the near future to discuss the details, as will all of our sponsors and sustaining and supporting organizations."
"We're excited to bring these two events together," said Harry Stagnito, president of Stagnito Communications and producer of the Food Safety & Security Summit. "We strongly believe that one unified event serves the best interest of attendees and suppliers alike and puts the focus squarely on the most important matter at hand; the safety and security of the global food supply."
Entering its ninth year, the Food Safety & Security Summit addresses critical food safety issues and provides networking opportunities among food processors, retailers, foodservice, academic, government personnel and suppliers.
