In the United States, most foodborne illnesses are caused by only a handful of foodborne pathogens. Do you know which ones those are?
"The group is small, but their impact is enormous," writes Sandy Miller Hays for the USDA Blog this week. "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that about 48 million illnesses, 128,000 hospitalizations and 3,000 deaaths are caused annually in the U.S. by foodborne contamination."
