WASHINGTON — The subcommittee of FDA’s science board will hear and discuss the draft assessment of BPA for use in food contact applications, including oral presentations from the public.
A final report released by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) said current human exposure to bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical used in many polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins, is of “some concern” for effects on development of the prostate gland and brain and for behavioral effects in fetuses, infants and children.
The meeting takes place Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. at the Hilton Washington Executive Meeting Center, Plaza Ballroom, 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852.
