The discovery of horse meat in beef products in Europe over the past several weeks has dominated headlines, capped in late February by the news that Swedish furniture manufacturer Ikea had withdrawn nearly 2,000 pounds of Swedish meatballs from its store.
The New York Times explored the answers to some questions arising from how the horse meat crisis in Europe affects the United States. "The situation in Europe has created unease among American consumers over whether horse meat might find its way into the food supply in the United States," NYT writes.
