PLEASANTON, Calif. -- DeltaTRAK, a leading innovator of cold chain, environment monitoring and food safety management solutions today announced its FlashCheck Real-Time Bacterial Enzyme Detection Kit has won United Fresh's 2012 Best New Food Safety Award. FlashCheck Real-Time Bacterial Enzyme Detection kits are used for identifying bacteria in the field and provide an accurate, quick and inexpensive way to screen for dangerous levels of bacterial contamination. Having a low cost screening tool allows users to test more often, thereby greatly increasing the success rate of catching bacterial contamination before it finds its way to the consumer.
"We are honored to receive this recognition and feel that our product will have a significant impact on the industry's efforts to combat food contamination," said Frederick Wu, president and CEO of DeltaTRAK. "Being able to test more often at a low cost will give produce growers and processes an effective way to easily screen for contamination and ultimately protect the consumer."
DeltaTRAK offers two types of screening tests. One is ideal for examining food preparation surfaces or any surface that comes in contact with food products - Surface Assay. The second screening test is designed specifically for testing the surface of food products and produce - Food Surface Assay.
