Cornell Dairy Foods Extension will host a workshop on membrane processing and concentration by evaporation of liquid foods and beverages workshop on Aug. 20-21.
The two-day course, delivered in person at Cornell's AgriTech campus in Geneva, N.Y., will focus on two concentration technologies: membrane filtration and evaporation. Membrane technologies and their applications, membrane design and mass balances and membrane audit and care will be presented and discussed, as well as concentration by evaporation, practical applications of evaporation and clarification by centrifugation. The course will include hands-on demonstrations of juice clarification by microfiltration vs. centrifugation and juice and whey concentration by RO vs. evaporation.
The course is delivered by Cornell University faculty and industry experts. Course tuition is $880 for New York participants and $960 for out-of-state participants.
