GFSI has announced the launch of its global stakeholder consultation for the BRC Extension of Scope for Storage & Distribution. As part of its commitment to providing transparency during the benchmarking process, GFSI invites stakeholders to comment on the process that BRC and the benchmark committee leader and members have been involved in over the past months.
The benchmarking summary report, form and details on how to submit comments are available on the GFSI Website.
The BRC Benchmarking Application was approved for the following scopes on 20th Sept 2012
• D Pre Processing Handling of Plant Products

• EII Processing of Plant Perishable Products
• EIII Processing of Animal and Plant Perishable Products (Mixed Products)
• EIV Processing of Ambient Stable Products

BRC then submitted an application for an extension of scope for (J) provision of Storage and Distribution Services. The BRC Extension of scope Benchmarking Application is open for a consultation period of four weeks from June 19, 2014.
Similar to the BRC benchmarking process, the BRC scope extension benchmarking process consisted of two desktop reviews of BRC's Benchmarking Application Form and supporting documentation by Benchmark Committee Leader Vince Craig and corresponding responses from BRC, and a review by the benchmark committee members – Gys Greef, The Coca-Cola Company and Vanessa Broadnax, Ahold – which led to their agreement.
