Cherney Microbiological Services added Steve Kuchenberg as Chief Operating Officer, effective September 25. Kuchenberg, former Global Segment Strategy Lead for Contract Testing Laboratories at Merck KGaA, has more than 10 years of industry experience with leading multinational life science companies.
As COO, Kuchenberg will report to Founder & CEO Debra Cherney. He will be responsible for the company’s current business strategy and execution of its long-term growth plans. His extensive industry experience brings a new level of competence and technical expertise to our organization, the company said.

Kuchenberg brings extensive insight on large-scale operations including a proven and disciplined record of driving growth without losing site of the needs of the customer, leveraging his years at Life Science Industry leading companies including Biomerieux, Bio-Rad, Qiagen and Merck KGaA. Prior to that, Kuchenberg earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. He will be based at Cherney’s headquarters in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
