Cherney Microbiological Services has hired Karrie Bierhals as technical services manager and Jeremy Syring as client services manager.
Bierhals, former laboratory director at Northland Laboratories in Green Bay, Wis., has 13 years of food and beverage laboratory experience. She will be responsible for providing guidance and support to Cherney team members and insight to client services and clients. Possessing in-depth knowledge of pathogens in food and environmental samples, her expertise will also be used for developing content for Cherney College Training classes; serving as an instructor when needed. Having worked her way from laboratory technician to director at Northland, she brings extensive experience in lab services, mentoring, and client relationships to the organization. Bierhals is a member of Eastern Wisconsin Cheesemakers and Buttermakers Association and the Wisconsin Laboratory Association.
Syring, former plant manager at Dean Foods Company in DePere, Wis., has nearly 20 years of industry experience with the dairy company. He will be responsible for providing guidance and ongoing support to existing customers and finding and maintaining new ones. In addition, he will promote awareness and understanding of all services Cherney provides. Having worked his way from laboratory technician to plant manager at Dean Foods, he brings extensive experience in client services and quality assurance to the organization. Besides taking care of the company’s customers, Syring also takes care of the community, working part-time as an EMT in Hobart since January 2017.
