"We have received many requests over the years to provide CanadaGAP materials in Spanish," noted Jack Bates, Chair of the Board for CanAgPlus. "Many fresh produce operations in Canada and the U.S. employ Spanish-speaking workers. These new tools will help CanadaGAP-certified companies provide complete food safety information and training to their employees."
The following CanadaGAP materials are now available in Spanish:
- CanadaGAP Food Safety Manual for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
- CanadaGAP Food Safety Manual for Greenhouse Production
- CanadaGAP Forms (record-keeping templates) from both manuals
"The manuals are being made available for the first time in Spanish in response to requests from program users inside and outside Canada," stated Heather Gale, Executive Director for the CanadaGAP program. "In addition to demand in Canada, the reach of the CanadaGAP program is also expanding to Spanish-speaking areas of the world, including Latin America."
