WASHINGTON, D.C. - Brian Walsh, president of the American Action Network (AAN), will speak at the 2012 Washington Public Policy Conference, United Fresh announced.
United Fresh said Walsh will provide his perspective on the competing influence of super PACs and political parties in the current elections. He will also look at the impact social media is having on the electorate and which party may have the upper-hand on that front, according to United Fresh.
In his current role, Walsh guides the American Action Network, “an ‘action tank’ that will create, encourage and promote center-right policies based on the principles of freedom, limited government, American exceptionalism, and strong national security,” according to their website. Prior to joining AAN, Walsh was Political Director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, where as a senior strategist for House Republicans, he led the successful efforts to win the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010.
“Brian Walsh has been a leading political strategist for congressional candidates across the country,” said Robert Guenther, United’s senior vice president of public policy. “He has experienced the inner workings of campaigns, and is now an influential ally to many politicians seeking office. Given the Citizens United case in the Supreme Court and the rise of Super PACs, his political insights will enlighten conference attendees about the complexity of this year’s elections.”
