Brady Carter a research scientist at Decagon Devices, will be presenting the upcoming Webinar titled “The Basics of Water Activity,” scheduled for April 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time). CLICK HERE for more information and to register.
Before joining Decagon, Carter was an assistant research scientist at Washington State University. Carter received his bachelor degree in botany from Weber State University in 1997 and his master’s degree in Cereal Chemistry from Washington State University in 1999.
In his presentation Carter will define water activity, its importance and its differentiation from moisture content. Discussion will cover:
• Why water activity is an important control measure for microbial spoilage
• Its importance in Government regulations
• Water activity measurement methods and techniques
• Underutilized applications for water activity in product quality and stability
• Decagon’s newest water activity instrument
From the seminar, participants will gain a greater overall understanding of water activity.
