CARY, N.C. — Pest Management and Public Health, a business within Bayer’s Environmental Science division, will offer attendees of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting in Pittsburgh, Pa., a look at rodent protection technology designed to help food safety professionals protect businesses from infestations.
“There can be serious loss and significant reputational damage for businesses when pests interrupt the food supply chain,” said Mitchell Goldstein, business development manager of Pest Management and Public Health at Bayer U.S. “We look forward to showing IAFP attendees why the Bayer Rodent Monitoring System is an essential part of any food safety program, helping protect brand and reputation.”
The Bayer Rodent Monitoring System (RMS) enables food safety professionals to focus on proper inspection and the area of infestation. Features like 24/7 monitoring, heat mapping, automated trap checking and up-to-the-minute program verification provide greater visibility and eliminate the need to manually check every trap, according to the supplier. These features remove guesswork and allow food safety professionals to determine if they are facing an infestation, the company said. The reporting capabilities also mean improved audit readiness, giving food safety professionals peace of mind on compliance without having to enter the facilities in person, reported Bayer.
Attendees can learn more about this technology by visiting Bayer booth #400. They also can attend an Aug. 1 educational session about protecting reputation and brand with the Bayer RMS, presented by Goldstein; Steve Sklare, president of the Food Safety Academy; and John Moore, technical director for Fumigation Service and Supply. The session runs from 10:15-10:45 a.m. in the exhibit hall.
“Food safety professionals will see how this technology works to improve protection for their clients, save time and fuel profitable growth,” said Goldstein. “They will not want to miss it.”
