RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — BASF recently debuted a food handling establishment application video for Phantom termiticide-insecticide, a nonrepellant, undetectable liquid product. The video, available to BASF partners today, is a valuable tool for learning how to properly apply Phantom in food handling establishments.
The DVD gives pest management professionals systematic steps for controlling pests in food handling establishments, including food handling areas, and guides viewers through an inspection and application with BASF Market Development Specialist, Dr. Anil Menon.
“The Phantom food handling application DVD underscores our continued commitment to providing PMPs with valuable training tools,” said Bill Baxter, business manager for BASF. “We recognize that food handling facilities are busy, around-the-clock operations that can’t shut down for extensive pest control applications. Phantom can manage the most common insect pests in these areas — flies, cockroaches and ants — economically and effectively with minimal disruption to standard activities.”
Menon narrates the video and emphasizes the importance of effective and precise application techniques in both food handling areas (areas where food and food products are held, processed, prepared or served) and non-food handling areas (garbage rooms, lavatories, floor drains, locker rooms, mop closets, etc). As showcased in the video, the Phantom label also allows for application to outside pest entry points, including doors, windows, eaves, attic vents, and holes in exterior walls where utilities enter. Phantom is approved for interior general pest control use in food/feed handling areas of structures, and when correctly applied, can prevent pest problems in a wide range of food handling establishments, such as restaurants, cafeterias, supermarkets, bakeries, dairies, processing plants, warehouses and more.
“Phantom is an excellent pest control solution for food handling establishments because it has virtually no odor and leaves little if any visible residue,” said Dr. Menon. “You can reapply Phantom as often as once every four weeks for maximum protection and peace of mind, and the product can be easily integrated into existing pest management programs that may include baits and IGRs.”
