ST. LOUIS — In response to the flooding in the St. Louis area, ASI employees at corporate headquarters held a food drive in June. Jeanette Hugé, sales director, and scheduler, Krista Hawk orchestrated this in hopes of helping flood victims.
“Being in the food industry, it makes sense for us to help our area. The best way we could do that is by holding a food drive,” Hugé said. Employees brought donations throughout the week of June 23. Items included cleaning supplies, water, canned food, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner.
“It’s just really awesome that people can come together for a cause,” said Krista Hawk. Krista took donations to the Winfield Fire Department. “It took me two hours to get there from our office due to road closures,” she said. Flood waters reached parts of Interstate 370. “It was well worth the drive there. The fire department was really happy to receive food and supplies.”
