LONGUEUIL, Quebec City — Agropur announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Schroeder Milk, a milk processing company located in Maplewood, Minn., a suburb of Minneapolis/St.Paul. Closing of the deal is scheduled for Dec. 23, 2008.
"This most recent acquisition is the first U.S. venture for Agropur Division Natrel, our fluid milk division," reported Agropur CEO Pierre Claprood.
The operation will continue under the name Schroeder Milk and will be
overseen by the current president, Bob Kirchoff, who will report to the
Vice President of Business Development for Division Natrel, Ken Hume.
"Production will continue, brands will be maintained, employees will keep
their jobs, and corporate management will maintain its course," added Mr.
Hume.
"We are excited to become part of the Agropur family," Kirchoff said. "This is a win-win for our employees and customers."
