FRESNO, CA – Agrian announced today the appointment of David Silva as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Silva comes to Agrian from Ballantine Produce where he oversaw the technology division of the company for the last 10 years. As CIO, Silva will play a key leadership role in the continued development and communication of Agrian’s technology strategy and vision. Silva will work closely with Agrian’s management team to drive innovation and explore new business and technology directions.
Silva’s comes to Agrian with extensive technology experience in leading product development, engineering, process design and technology innovation. He also has extensive food safety and traceability experience in the fresh produce industry. While at Ballantine Produce, he participated on the Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) as well other industry work groups, including the PMA RFID Issues Committee. Silva is a fellow with the California Agricultural Leadership Program class of 39 and a graduated of California State University, Fresno.
