A2LA is accepting applications for accreditation from North American Certification Bodies interested in certifying products for export to the United Arab Emirates under the UAE.S 2055-2 certification requirements.
The Emirates Authority for Standards and Metrology (ESMA) has entrusted A2LA to be the sole source provider of accreditations to the ISO/IEC 17065:2012 standard for Halal Product Certification Bodies in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, at a time when the Gulf States are heavily scrutinizing the compliance with Halal requirements of food and other products being imported into their economies. The United States is one of the leading providers of food exports
for these nations, and competent, impartial certification of compliance is critical to maintaining the economic relationships present in our interconnected world.
Interested parties may begin the application process by filling out the A2LA F334 Application Form (https://www.a2la.org/forms/F334.docx) and the F335 Ownership Confirmation Form (https://www.a2la.org/forms/F335.doc) and returning the completed documents, along with the required supporting information and fees, to applications@A2LA.org.
A2LA’s Product Certification Program includes accredited Certification Bodies operating a number of different schemes across the country and world for numerous types of products ranging from hand-held cellular telephones to wind turbines and energy efficient, sustainable building design. With the addition of these certifications in the food industry and with the support of a strong assessor corps and collaboration with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Accreditation Center (GAC), the A2LA program continues to expand to provide stakeholders with world-class accreditation services.
