The 10th annual Food Safety & Security Summit is the nation's largest conference on food safety, quality assurance and food security.
The three-day event provides a chance for food manufacturers, retailers, restaurant and foodservice professionals as well as non-profits, members of the military, government and academia to come together to discuss the practical and technical regulatory and scientific issues and view the very latest updates on new technologies.
This year’s convention, sponsored in part by QA magazine, will be held March 17-19, 2008, at the Washington Conference Center in Washington, D.C.
Rick Frazier, leader of Coca Cola Company’s technical stewardship function; Richard Rivera, chairman of the board of the National Restaurant Association and Dr. David Acheson, M.D., F.R.C.P, assistant commissioner of food protection for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will be the keynote speakers.
More than 1,500 decision-makers from top industry companies will be on hand, including food safety and quality assurance executives from such leading companies as Campbell Soup, Hormel Foods, Kellogg Company, Kraft, Tyson, McDonald’s, Marriott International, Perdue Farms, Cargill, Sara Lee Foodservice, Tyson Foods, the FBI, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and FDA.
Five educational tracks with more than 75 expert presenters covering 30 sessions and 5 half-day workshops will be offered, including Foodservice and Retail; Food Security and Supply Chain; Process Control and Quality Assurance; In the Lab: Testing and Technology; and In the Plant: Sanitation and Operations.
In addition to the conference program, attendees will be able to visit the exhibit area where hundreds of companies will display the latest food safety and food defense technologies and processes as well as provide formal presentations on their products in the new Vendor Track Theater. Exhibiting companies include 3M Microbiology, DuPont Qualicon, JohnsonDiversey, Siemens Energy & Automation, Ecolab, Mettler Toledo Safeline, NSF and Weber Scientific.
And scientists in industry, academia, government, and interested parties will have a place on the show floor to showcase their important scientific findings to conference participants.
