<FONT color=red>[Update: China, EU, Japan and Ukraine]</FONT> July Export Changes

A complete listing of changes to export requirements for July.

Changes to export requirements in July include:

China

Meat and poultry and meat and poultry products produced or stored at the establishment listed below are not eligible for export to China until further notice. Meat and poultry products produced at other establishments from raw materials originating from this establishment are also not eligible for export to China.

Colombia

Meat and poultry products must be packaged according to U.S. requirements.

Cuba

Fresh/frozen poultry derived from birds raised or processed in Virginia is ineligible effective July 9.

Effective July 19, all fresh/frozen poultry derived from birds raised or processed in Nebraska is ineligible.

European Union

A new, supplementary tariff rate quota and Certificate of Origin has been set by the European Union specifically for U.S. pork loins and hams. For more information, visit the U.S. Meat Export Federation here.

This information is for the use of U.S. exporters. It should not be considered by FSIS personnel in determining the eligibility of product for FSIS export certification. FSIS does not issue and is not involved in the issuance of the Certificate of Origin.

Hong Kong 

Hong Kong maintains a zero tolerance for bones and bone fragments in beef and beef products.

Effective July 11, all poultry and poultry products from Shenandoah County, Va., are ineligible.

Japan

Eggs laid in Virginia prior to June 15 are eligible; eggs laid on or after that date are ineligible.

Malaysia

For beef and beef products, the vertebral column (including the transverse processes of the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, the wings of the sacrum, and the vertebrae of the tail) must be removed from animals 30 months of age and older.

Eligible beef and beef products must be produced under an approved AMS Export Verification (EV) program. Veal is not subject to an approved EV program.

Establishments must also be approved for Halal export by Malaysia.

Russia

Fresh/frozen poultry meat derived from birds raised or processed in Virginia and slaughtered on or after July 7 is ineligible. Meat derived from birds slaughtered prior to July 7 continues to be eligible.

Taiwan

The restriction on beef derived from cattle imported from Canada for immediate slaughter has been removed effective with cattle slaughtered after 5 a.m. EST on July 12.

Effective July 12, all poultry and poultry products originating from Virginia are ineligible. In addition, shipments transiting Virginia must be in a sealed container.

Ukraine

Exporters of beef and beef products, and pork and pork products, must obtain FSIS Form 9060-5, Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness. Slaughter dates must be included in the "Remarks" section in day/month/year format. Date ranges are acceptable.
