<FONT color=red>[Update: China]</FONT> Export Requirements for August

Chile

Requirements for beef labeling have changed. Cartons now must have the following labeling information:

  • Name of cut
  • Establishment number, name and address of the establishment where the product was packed
  • Gross weight, net weight and number of cuts in the carton
  • Day, month and year of slaughter
  • USDA quality grade designation (cartons must contain only cuts of the same grade).

The protective covering of the individual beef cuts inside the box now must have the following labeling information:

  • Name of the cut
  • Establishment number, name and address of the establishment where the product was packed
  • Day, month and year of slaughter
  • USDA quality grade designation

Note: Applying labeling features to inner bags either requires inclusion of all required features in accordance with 9 CFR 317.2 or sketch approval for the deviation (absence of some features) according to 9 CFR 317.7 if all required features are not included.

China

Meat and poultry and meat and poultry products produced or stored at the establishments listed below are not eligible for export to China until further notice. Meat and poultry products produced at other establishments from raw materials originating from these establishments are also not eligible for export to China.

  • Est. 17564, Indiana Packers Corp., Delphi, Ind.
  • Est. 18079, Smithfield Packing Co., Tar Heel, N.C.

Hong Kong

Raw poultry derived from birds raised or processed in Shenandoah County, Va., and Seward County, Neb., and slaughtered on or after June 28, is ineligible. Poultry from birds slaughtered prior to June 28 continues to be eligible.

Mexico

Effective July 20, 2007, all restrictions on the following counties in Texas have been removed: Bastrop, Comal, De Witt, Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Galdwell, Hays, Karnes, La Vaca and Wilson.

Shipments of raw poultry meat, carcass, mechanically de-boned meat (which also may be cured), viscera and offal product, including meat for further processing, as well as chicken meat in brine, must have new statements listed on their FSIS Form 9060-5.

The Philippines

Raw poultry from West Virginia, Virginia and Nebraska regardless of production date are ineligible. Poultry cooked to at least 70° C (158° F) continues to be eligible, and must have the following certification statement included in the "Remarks" section of FSIS Form 9060-5:

"The poultry meat certified hereon was cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 70 degrees C (158 degrees F) for a minimum of 3.5 seconds."

Russia

Fresh/frozen poultry meat derived from birds raised or processed in Minnesota and slaughtered on or after May 2, but prior to August 2, is ineligible.

Meat derived from birds slaughtered prior to May 2, or slaughtered on or after August 2, is eligible.

Sri Lanka

All poultry and poultry products originating from Delaware, Illinois,  Delaware, Michigan, Montana and Pennsylvania are ineligible.

Thailand

Fresh/frozen poultry and poultry products, except for fresh/frozen poultry from California, Missouri, Nebraska and North Carolina are eligible. Heat-processed products from these states are eligible.
