BASF
www.phantomhome.com/food
The active ingredient, chlorfenapyr, in BASF’s Phantom termiticide-insecticide is undetectable, meaning pests cannot taste it, smell it or avoid it, the company said. Once ingested, Phantom attacks pests by preventing their cells from generating energy, which leads to paralysis, then death. But because the process is not immediate, dead insects will not accumulate in one spot, which could signal to other pests to avoid these treated areas. Phantom controls ants, cockroaches, flies and stored product pests when used alone or with other pest management programs, such as baits and insect growth regulators.
Bayer Environmental Science

Maxforce FC Magnum from Bayer Environmental Science is a fast, effective cockroach gel bait. It features a bait matrix designed to attract even finicky cockroaches; the Domino Effect, whereby cockroaches share the active ingredient with one another; and ContactX technology, which controls cockroaches that simply contact the bait, the company said. This makes Magnum an ideal choice for food-handling areas where alternative food sources are abundant.
DuPont Professional Products

DuPont Advion cockroach gel bait and Advion cockroach bait arena offer the combination of speed and thorough control. The products use a new active ingredient and proprietary bait formulations, so there is less concern for bait aversion or resistance, the company said. Advion provides exponential control of all prevailing species of cockroaches, even bait-averse ones. One cockroach exposed to Advion unleashes a three-step chain reaction, which multiplies to kill secondary and even tertiary groups, the company said. This ensures optimum performance, yet is environmentally responsible and supports Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
