Alejandro Mazzotta, senior vice president of quality, food safety and regulatory affairs at Chobani, presents a call to action to IAFP 2025 attendees: Come together to prevent foodborne illness — and help food safety attorney Bill Marler retire.
Mazzotta presented the Ivan Parkin lecture at the International Association for Food Protection Annual Meeting Opening Session in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 27.
His presentation, "Less is More: Ditching Distractions and Focusing on Value," reflected on the need to streamline food production processes and eliminate non-value-adding activities, particularly in the realms of external audits and regulatory compliance. Mazzotta shared strategies and best practices for optimizing food safety efforts and insights to bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and operational excellence in food safety management.
